The Fire of God (Baptism of fire 3)

The Fire of God (Baptism of fire 3)

By Pastor James Kimathi

Nyama Choma (Roast meat) is a common delicacy here in Keny, one that I love and enjoy. I don’t know whether you are aware that roast meat is sweeter than fried meat. If well done you can even have it without salt. This is because when you roast meat, the water inside dries up allowing the salts within the meat to manifest which makes the meat tastier. This brings us to the next purpose of fire which is to season.

“For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt (Mk. 9:49-50, NKJV).

When the fire of God comes upon someone, they become more pleasant to be around, pleasant to listen to and they even become a healing force to the nations because they have been seasoned.

The other use of fire in scripture is as a weapon.

4 So he went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails, 5 lit the torches and let the foxes loose in the standing grain of the Philistines. He burned up the shocks and standing grain, together with the vineyards and olive groves. (Judges 15:4-5, NIV)

I pray that you may catch the fire of the Lord so that you can be used as a weapon against every force of darkness.
