3 Things you must do to receive God’s reward

3 Things you must do to receive God's reward

1. Seek him diligently

By Pastor Ann Ngugi

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6, NKJV)

Last week, we defined ‘reward’ as something given to a person or to people in recognition of service, effort, contribution or achievement. For our sakes, I want to also add that a reward is something given to you by God for your faithfulness in waiting on God and believing his promises to you.

A few days ago, I had a dream where our Pastor was calling people to the altar and handing gifts to them. Notably, not everyone got the gifts as he was calling people by nae to step forward and receive their reward. I found it quite interesting that while some members of our congregation missed out, visitors received a reward.

As we journey through the Month of March which is our month of rewards, I want you to know that not everyone received the reward of the Lord. Fortunately, the scripture above describes to us the kind of person that received God’s reward.

The first thing you must do to receive God’s reward is to seek him dilligently. Diligence in seeking the Lord means that you keep praying, reading the word and loving God.

You must also be persistent like the widow and the righteous judge. She kept coming and nugging the judge until she worn him out and he gave her what she wanted. Later in the story, Jesus told the disciples that this is how we should seek God-persistently.

I pray that you will remain persistent and that you will hold on to the word of God without giving up regardless of the circumstances of life.
