The Abundant Life (God's original plan)
By Min. MaryAnne Kamau
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10, NKJV)
Do you remember when we talked about the second Adam? Everything that we have talked about up to this moment was to lead us to the ministry of the second Adam which was redemption and reconciliation of man to God. However, it was important that we walk the journey we have walked so that we could understand the full weight of the second Adam’s ministry.
In the last post, I mentioned that I find it amazing that God had a plan for man’s redemption from the beginning. The first mention of the coming of Christ who we know is the second Adam is in Genesis 3 where the Bible talks about the son of man crushing the serpent’s head. However, it’s interesting that it took thousands of years for the son of man to finally come. Everything we read in the Bible; from Genesis to Matthew when Jesus comes, including the prophets, is all in preparation for the coming of Jesus.
Fortunatey, we live post the prophecies of the coming of Jesus and post the death and resurection of Jesus. As a result, we get to experience the full benefits of the finished work of the cross.
The Bible says, in Romans 5, that by one man, sin entered the world and death reigned. However, the Bible also says that by one man’s death (that is Christ), we became reconciled to God. Please note that as long as you are separated from the work of the cross, death still reigns. It is only when we accept the ministry of reconciliation through the cross, what we call salvation, that death ceases to reign.
Earlier, we said that there is something innate in each one of us that refuses to accept as normal, any circumstance that does not reflect the life of Christ. Therefore, when you find yourself in such a space, you first check whether you have accepted this ministry of reconciliation.
If you have come this far and have not yet accepted this ministry of reconciliation, the beautiful thing is that there is still time. You can reach out to us through our social media pages or via the contact us tab on our website and someone will reach out to you and start the journey of accepting this ministry of reconciliation and be well on your way to the overflowing life that Christ came to bring us.
