Divine protection: The man whose battles God fights
In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. 15 Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. 16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an [a]instrument for his work; And I have created the [b]spoiler to destroy. 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. (Isa. 54: 14-17, NKJV)
Isaiah 54 carries a promise for us to be established in righteousness; not of ourselves but of God. Righteousness means you have rights in the Kingdom of for example the right to divine protection. It also means you are aligned and in God’s perfect position. It is possible to be righteous before men and not God. This means that before men you are doing the right thing but in the eyes of God, you are in error. God can only fight the battles of man who is established in righteousness.
How does a man become established in righteousness?
We enter into dimensions of God’s righteousness by believing in him and in his word.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Rom. 1:17, NIV)
Our righteousness is not from works but from faith. Our righteousness this year will come from what we do in response to Isaiah 54 and Revelation 3:7 because that demonstrates our faith. When God sees you moving by faith, he calls you righteous and since you have pleased him, he fights your battles and removes the obstacles that would stand against you and the open door.
When GOD approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand. (Prov. 16:7, MSG)
When God approves of you it means you are in a right standing; you stand right by keeping his word. This is why it is important to mediate on the word until it births an action in your life, then you will have attained righteousness.
Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith (Isaiah 26: 2, NIV)
The righteous nation is the one that keeps faith in the word they have heard. When you hear the word, you must mix it with faith. The Bible talks of a people who failed to enter rest because they did not mix the word they heard with faith (Heb. 4).
If there is a battle you must fight this year, it is the battle to keep the word of God, don’t lose it regardless of how long you wait to see it fulfilled. Do not permit anything in your life that does not align with scripture. Ask the Lord to help you mix the word you hear with faith and begin to make moves, if you are not already, because faith is evidenced by action.
